A FAMILY LEGACY

Boyd Chevrolet in Hendersonville, North Carolina, traces its roots back to the early 1930s when LC Boyd Sr. embarked on his journey in the automotive industry. In 1932, he laid the foundation by opening a Pontiac franchise on the corner of Church Street and 4th Avenue, marking the inception of the Boyd family's enduring legacy in the business. Over the years, LC Boyd Sr.'s dedication and vision propelled the dealership forward, earning a reputation for excellence and reliability throughout Hendersonville and beyond.

As the dealership flourished, it outgrew its original location, prompting the construction of a new facility on Asheville Highway. This expansion also brought the acquisition of the Cadillac franchise, adding another prestigious brand to the dealership's portfolio alongside Pontiac and Buick. The Boyd family's commitment to providing top-notch vehicles and exceptional service remained unwavering throughout the years, solidifying their position as a trusted automotive destination in the community.

In 1983, the dealership underwent a significant transition when Cam Boyd Jr. took the helm, purchasing the business from his father, LC Boyd Sr. Under Cam Boyd Jr.'s leadership, Boyd Chevrolet continued to thrive, evolving with the changing automotive landscape while staying true to its heritage.

In addition to its Hendersonville operations, Boyd Chevrolet expanded into Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, where it operated a dealership until December 31, 2009. The closure was part of General Motors' nationwide restructuring, which reduced approximately 2,000 dealerships.

In 2010, a pivotal moment arrived when Boyd acquired the highly coveted Chevrolet franchise, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter of growth. With the acquisition of Chevrolet, Boyd Chevrolet embarked on a journey of modernization and innovation. Recognizing the need for state-of-the-art facilities to accommodate the expanding dealership, a decision was made to construct a new, cutting-edge facility. On Veterans Day 2013, the dealership proudly opened its doors to its current location, equipped with the latest technology and amenities to better serve its customers.

Today, the Boyd family legacy continues under the capable leadership of LC Boyd III, better known as Les, who joined the dealership in 2001. With a steadfast commitment to upholding the values instilled by previous generations, Boyd Chevrolet remains a pillar of the Hendersonville community, offering unparalleled service, a wide selection of vehicles, and a legacy of excellence that spans generations.
