Performance


While both of these trucks are high-performing, they have different equipment under the hood. 

2024 Chevy Colorado engine options:

  • The base 2.7L Turbo 
  • Available 2.7L Turbo Plus

2024 Chevy Silverado engine options:

  • 2.7L TurboMax I4
  • 5.3L EcoTec3 V8
  • 6.2L EcoTec3 V8
  • 3.0L Duramax® turbo diesel I6

The new 2024 Chevy Colorado delivers a standard 237 horsepower, while the Silverado’s standard horsepower is 310. When it comes to towing, the Silverado has a max towing capacity of 13,000 pounds (when equipped with the 6.2-liter V8 engine and Max Trailering Package). The Colorado’s towing capacity maxes out at 7,700 pounds.

Although the new Chevy Silverado is more powerful, the Colorado is better suited for off-roading. It has best-in-class ground clearance and underbody protection with 5 Boron Steel Skid plates.

Seating and Cargo Space  

The Silverado is available in a two-door regular cab model, a larger Double Cab, and a four-door Crew Cab. The Colorado is only available as a four-door crew cab. 

You’ll enjoy leather upholstery and power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats in both trucks. The Silverado is just under 20 inches longer than the largest Colorado and has room for up to six. The Colorado seats up to five.

Three bed lengths are available on the Silverado: short, standard, and long. The Colorado only has one bed length, but it is equipped with in-bed storage compartments. 

Interior Features 

Both trucks are outfitted with impressive, in-demand tech features. The Colorado has a standard touchscreen that measures 11.3 inches. The Silverado’s touchscreen is smaller, coming in at 7 inches with an available 13.4 inch upgrade. Both have digital driver information centers with the Colorado’s coming in at 11 inches and the Silverado’s measuring  12.3 inches.

Both are equipped with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and wireless phone charging capaility, and available Google Built-In and standard push-button start. Stay comfortable with standard single-zone climate control or upgrade to dual-zone climate control on higher trim levels.

Pricing and Trim Levels 

The base RWD Crew Cab Colorado starts at $29,500 and goes up to $46,800 for the four-wheel drive ZR2 off-road model. It’s available in five trims:

  • WT
  • LT
  • Trail Boss
  • Z71
  • ZR2

The 2024 Chevy Silverado price starts at $36,800 and tops out at $69,900 for the top-of-the-line four-wheel-drive ZR2 Crew Cab. The 2024 Silverado is available in nine trims:

  • Custom Trail Boss
  • LT
  • RST
  • LT Trail Boss
  • LTZ
  • High Country
